Research networking event
RNE is one of the important programs of BMEiCON. One of the main objectives of RNE is to create BME Network among BMEiCON delegates. With BMEiCON RNE, professors, researchers, lecturers and students join the trip to visit some of the attractions. On the trip, BMEiCON delegates will get to know each other, exchange name cards and ideas, discuss research and possible cooperation, etc. Professors in different aspects will be seen in RNE in the cool, calm and collected fashion.
BMEiCON2023 RNE will take author to visit the Hakone which is close to Tokyo and Mount Fuji and is a popular travel destination. Hakone can be enjoyed year-round with its stunning seasonal landscape and many events. Hakone site seeing includes the following destination.
Hakone Sekisho
The Hakone-Sekisho was an important site in the history of transportation in the Edo period (1603-1868). The Sekisho was a checkpoint along Lake Ashi that enforced the strict travel regulations imposed by the Tokugawa Shogunate (1600-1868) on the people of Japan. The Hakone Checkpoint was one of the most important because of its proximity to the capital.
Hakone-en
Hakone-en is a comprehensive recreational facility with many attractions, restaurant, and souvenir shops. It serves as a convenient base for sightseeing in Hakone as both the Ashinoko Lake Leisure Cruise and Komagatake Ropeway have stations here.
Hakone Pleasure Cruise
Enjoy approx. 25–40-minute sightseeing cruise in Lake Ashi. The Hakone scenery seen from the lake is completely beautiful including the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.
Hakone Ropeway
The Hakone - Owakudani Ropeway is an aerial lift located in Hakone, Kanagawa, near Lake Ashi. The ropeway has two sections: one from the Sounzan station to Owakudani station, the other from Owakudani station to Togendai station. The Owakudani station will take you to a little over 1000 meters above sea level during the ride from the bottom to top station. From top to bottom, the ropeway takes about 30 minutes to travel. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of Owakudani Valley, the famous active, sulfuric valley which heats many of the hot springs around the area. If you are lucky and visibility allows, you can also see Mount Fuji and Lake Ashi on the way down from the ride as well.
Oh-waku-dani
Ōwakudani (. "Great Boiling Valley") is a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and hot springs in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It was created around 3,000 years ago, as a result of the explosion of the Hakone volcano
RNE is limited to regular registration. RNE ticket can be purchased separately at the registration desk. The cost of RNE is 9,000 Yen (Lunch included)
